Mater Ecclesiae College Graduation 2026

On 8 September 2026, the feast of the Birthday of the Blessed Virgin Mary, the Graduation ceremony of Mater Ecclesiae College was celebrated with joy and thanksgiving in the chapel of St Mary's University. Marking the feast, Graduation was combined with Evening Prayer, with the College's new Chancellor, Archbishop Richard Moth, presiding and conferring degrees.

In his Address, the Rector, Mgr Paul McPartlan, warmly welcomed Archbishop Richard and the new Vice-Chancellor of St Mary's, Dr Øystein Lund. He spoke of the close relationship between the College and the University, and of the significance of the lovely feast for the life and mission of the College. He congratulated not only the graduates but their families and friends, too, who have supported them and share their achievement, and he highlighted several new developments: the new College website, the Licence in Theology which will be launched in September 2027, and the plans for a Faculty of Canon Law.

The celebration concluded with a buffet reception in the Waldegrave Suite, which was greatly enjoyed by all.
