A Message from the Rector on the Election of Pope Leo

Thank God for our new Pope Leo XIV! How urgently humanity needs the peace that Christ alone can give (Jn 14:27). Pope Leo’s first words, ‘Peace be with you all’, echoing our risen Lord, the Good Shepherd, were joyful and uplifting, summoning the Church to proclaim the good news by peacemaking and bridge-building. His address to the cardinals, echoing Pope Francis, challenged us to draw afresh on the teaching of Vatican II, focused on Christ and dedicated to mission, service of the poor and dialogue with the modern world.  

May this spiritual son of St Augustine inspire the whole Church to be renewed in the love that heals and unites!
